Video Intelligence Helps Gorski Bulk Transport Enhance Safety

Gorski Bulk Transport (GBT) is a family-run liquid and dry bulk carrier based in Oldcastle, Ontario, founded in 1957, operating 75 power units and 175 tank trailers with about 100 employees across North America. After a driver-recorded highway incident exposed the limits of traditional evidence, GBT installed DVRs fleetwide but found after two years that managing hours of footage and unreliable hardware made the system overwhelming and impractical.

GBT partnered with longtime provider PeopleNet to deploy its Video Intelligence Solution—forward-facing cameras integrated with PeopleNet Blu.2 units and event-triggered onboard recording that delivers clips directly to the safety team. The system reduced uncertainty around incidents, improved driver coaching and documentation for insurance and compliance, impressed their insurer, and is being rolled out fleetwide with analytics for CSA, HOS and driving behavior and plans to add side and backup cameras.
