A Trimble Case Study
Tyréns, one of Sweden’s leading civil engineering consultancies, was tasked by the Swedish Transport Administration with planning the first stretch of the Norrbotnia Railway between Umeå and Dava. The team needed to coordinate rail, road, drainage, environmental, and geotechnical design across multiple offices, while keeping the project moving efficiently and reducing the risk of conflicts in a complex public infrastructure plan using Trimble’s Novapoint and Quadri.
Trimble’s Novapoint and Quadri BIM server enabled Tyréns to work simultaneously on a shared model, coordinate updates in real time, and use 3D visualization for easier design review and collision detection. The result was faster, more efficient planning across three engineers in three locations and six road models, with better control over design quality and earlier identification of issues. Tyréns also credited Trimble with strong support throughout the project.
