Trimble’s Precise Positioning Services Bring Automation to Pile Driving

NASKU GmbH, founded in 2011, develops automation systems that retrofit pile drivers to precisely place steel posts for large-scale solar fields. Facing vast sites (16–100 sq. miles), rocky terrain, and a shortage of skilled surveyors and operators, the company needed reliable positioning with about 2 cm horizontal and sub-centimeter relative height accuracy to ensure poles are correctly located and aligned.

By integrating the Trimble BX992 GNSS receiver for centimeter-level positioning and precise heading, NASKU automated site mapping and pile driving while keeping the system rugged and easy to deploy worldwide. The solution reduced labor needs to just two operators, enabled up to 50 posts per hour, cut labor costs by as much as 75%, and accelerated project completion with consistent, accurate results.
