Trimble’s MX9 mobile mapping system supports paving applications for this contractor’s road maintenance work in Italy

C9 Costruzioni, a roadway maintenance contractor in Italy, needed a faster, more precise way to rebuild layers on a 3.5-km section of the SS38 motorway while connecting its workflow from survey to design to milling. The company worked with Trimble and used the Trimble MX9 mobile mapping system as part of an increasingly digital highway maintenance process.

Trimble helped C9 Costruzioni capture roadway data, process it with Trimble Business Center and Trimble RealWorks, and feed a digital road model into the Trimble PCS900 3D milling system. The result was millimeter-accurate milling, an optimal final surface, and a more efficient, fully connected survey-to-design-to-milling workflow that impressed the client, the Autonomous Province of Bolzano.
