A Trimble Case Study
Smith Roberts Baldischwiler (SRB), an Oklahoma engineering and surveying firm working with oil and gas producers, faced a common challenge: landowners often couldn’t visualize how proposed roads, pipelines and equipment would affect their property, slowing negotiations for easements and rights-of-way and risking costly surprises later in projects.
SRB adopted Trimble SiteVision, an Android-based augmented reality solution with centimeter-level GNSS accuracy, to overlay 3D models of proposed improvements onto the real site. The in-field visualizations let landmen and landowners see and revise alignments in real time—protecting trees or other assets—and accelerated agreement, reduced rework and delays, and is now being explored for broader oilfield planning use.
