Atlantic Tower Services is an Orlando-based provider of communications tower installation, maintenance and repair, operating technicians across 24 states plus Alaska and Puerto Rico. Rapid growth created operational challenges—dispatchers needed real-time visibility to send the closest crews, reduce fuel and idle time, improve driver behavior, and protect vehicles and assets in hard-to-reach locations.

ATS implemented Trimble Fleet Management’s GPS-based, cloud platform to track vehicle location, diagnostics and driver behavior and to generate fuel and activity reports. The system enabled faster, more efficient dispatching, allowed recovery of a $30,000 stolen pickup, cut fuel use by about 30%, improved productivity and driver habits, and lowered overall operating costs.
