Temple University Expanding Education for our Future with PMIS

Temple University, a public institution founded in 1884 with 17 schools and more than 38,000 students across domestic and international campuses, launched a large capital program—over 150 new builds, major upgrades, and renovations under its Visualize Temple and Verdant Temple plans. The facilities team faced minimal transparency for senior leadership, an inability to manage the growing workload, heavy reliance on manual processes (handwritten invoices and spreadsheets), and limited confidence in reports, prompting a need to consolidate operations and improve communication.

Temple deployed e-Builder Enterprise—leveraging Cost, Document Management, and Reporting modules and an automated Project Update Process—to manage budgets, change orders, invoices, and weekly updates. The system produced clear project metrics, enabled benchmarking of architects, engineers and contractors, streamlined reporting, and achieved full executive and facilities-team buy-in, resulting in greater efficiency, productivity, and confidence in program oversight.
