Youngstown, Ohio–based Prout Boiler, Heating & Welding is a commercial and industrial plumbing, HVAC and process‑piping contractor focused on healthcare and education projects. On the $42.5M Salem Regional Medical Center bed tower the owner demanded an 18‑month fast‑track schedule, requiring unprecedented multi‑trade coordination and extensive prefabrication so MEP work could proceed in parallel with the building shell.

Prout adopted Trimble AutoBid Mechanical and PipeDesigner 3D for BIM‑based estimating, detailing and coordination, enabling off‑site fabrication of 60 corridor racks, bathroom pods and medical gas headwalls and producing installation drawings and bills of materials quickly.
