Swinerton Management & Consulting (SMC), part of the long-established Swinerton Family of Companies, managed construction of The Villas at The Grand Del Mar for Barratt American but initially relied on a complex, time-consuming Excel system. Barratt, acting as general contractor, lacked coordination processes with architects, engineers and subs, which led to out-of-sync accounting, slow reporting and risk from numerous drawing changes and potential change-order overruns.

SMC fast-tracked implementation of Prolog Manager with consultant Kelar Pacific, migrating contract, cost and change-order data and training the team—Prolog was operational within a week. Centralized documentation and improved reporting let SMC track and validate change costs, negotiate lower subcontractor rates, cut data-processing time in half and save the client approximately $500K on change orders, leading Barratt to adopt Prolog for ongoing projects.
