Superior Bulk Logistics, one of North America’s largest carrier fleets (moving more than five billion pounds of product in 2013), had implemented Trimble’s TMT Fleet Maintenance but was using only a fraction of its capabilities. After improving manual parts inventory entry and automated tracking, the company recognized it needed a warranty tracking and recovery process—and that all required warranty data already resided in their fleet maintenance system.

Trimble professional services trained Superior Bulk staff and loaded a year’s worth of warranty information for more than 1,000 active components into TMT, using VMRS coding to standardize internal and external part numbers. The system now creates warranty master records, daily and custom reports (80 standard reports plus unlimited custom options), automates claims and failed-parts analyses, and recovered $60,000 in the first full month; warranty recovery continues to be automated, accurate and ongoing.
