A Trimble Case Study
Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) is one of the largest U.S. public utilities, serving over 416,000 customers and managing major capital programs including a $600M High Level Disinfection (HLD) upgrade. WASD struggled with disconnected information, unpredictable workload and poor visibility across projects, which made resource allocation, planning and risk management difficult as multiple large contracts moved from planning to construction.
WASD implemented Meridian Systems’ Proliance as a single, database-driven Project Control Tracking System, using a phased rollout and Runding Corporation for configuration and training. The solution standardized documents and workflows, improved visibility for managers and auditors, and centralized project data—resulting in faster decision-making, two contracts finishing 30% ahead of schedule, others ahead or on time, no change orders to date, lower construction management costs and a stronger community image.
