Skanska uses Trimble’s Novapoint GO in large construction projects

Skanska faced a complex, two-year construction challenge laying 1,250 km of backbone fibre for Telia Skanova across Sweden, through varied terrain and many municipalities. The project required close coordination with multiple stakeholders, rapid decisions, and precise documentation of obstacles, errors, and changes. Skanska used Trimble’s Novapoint GO to help manage field control and quality assurance on the large-scale cable installation.

Trimble’s Novapoint GO enabled Skanska to document each section of the route with photos, comments, and exact time and location data, making it easier to navigate the site, track changes, and report issues on a map. The result was faster communication with the customer, better control over extra work that needed to be billed, and more efficient operations across multiple work teams. Skanska said the tool greatly streamlined the project and improved quality control throughout the work.
