Silver Spur Construction Improves Accuracy and Grading Productivity by 20% with 3D Grade Control from Trimble

Silver Spur Construction is a family‑owned Oklahoma firm founded in 1975 that has expanded from government work into commercial earthworks across Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas. To win and execute more complex site grading projects (QuikTrip stores, Kimberly‑Clark pad and access road, river riprap) the company needed higher accuracy, faster production, and a way to eliminate staking and costly rework.

Partnering with SITECH Texoma, Silver Spur deployed Trimble GCS900 3D machine control with a Trimble SPS855 base station and receiver, bringing real‑time 3D grade guidance into the cab. The result: roughly 20% improved grading productivity, about 10% lower project costs, zero staking or rework on key jobs, faster completion (more than a month recovered on one project), and precise placement across large works including 60,000 cu yd of earth, 12,000 tons of gravel and 25,000–25,000 tons of riprap.
