A Trimble Case Study
SafeLink Alliance is delivering a AU$700 million upgrade to motorways and interchanges in Brisbane, a complex project with extensive earthworks, bridge structures and tight site access. As Trimble machine control replaced traditional pegging, supervisors — already in short supply — lost the physical design references they needed to manage works, while constantly changing designs and confined, traffic-sensitive work zones created safety and coordination challenges.
SafeLink fitted Trimble Site Supervisor systems to supervisor and client vehicles so field staff could view real-time 3D design data, cut/fill levels and sections across the site. The solution restored visibility on a pegless site, enabled instant design updates, reduced reliance on survey crews (estimated savings ~AU$4M), improved safety by keeping staff in vehicles, sped up planning and unplanned works, and strengthened collaboration and job satisfaction across teams.
