Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD), one of the oldest K–12 districts in the western U.S. serving about 46,815 students across 85 schools and 5.6 million sq ft, faced a major challenge managing a $408 million bond program for technology upgrades, repairs and modernization. The district had outgrown its legacy systems: processes were inconsistent, systems weren’t integrated, and heavy manual data entry made it difficult to gather and track information across departments and projects.

SCUSD implemented e-Builder Enterprise’s cloud-based project management solution, with more than 100 internal and external users, to digitize bid management and track the entire bond program down to specific line items. The district completed 373 projects, reduced bid processing by 1–2 days and payment processing by 3–4 days on average, and gained improved risk management, fiduciary oversight and public transparency—enabling confident, timely reporting to the Bond Oversight Committee.
