Rummel Construction’s Master Plan for Technology-Enabled Efficiency

Rummel Construction, a 580-person heavy civil contractor based in Scottsdale, Arizona, wanted to use technology to improve productivity on large mass earthmoving projects. Working with Trimble, the company adopted tools including the Trimble Earthworks Grade Control Platform, Trimble Siteworks Positioning System, SPS Series Universal Total Stations, and Trimble Stratus to support its growing commercial, mining, highway, and site development work.

Trimble helped Rummel streamline layout, grading, surveying, and quantity tracking, with machine control and drone mapping reducing rework and wasted time while improving safety. The results were significant: Rummel reports being about 20–30% more efficient, with safer operations, better accuracy, and the capacity to take on more work.
