The constrained site — adjacent to a busy rail corridor, a bus tunnel and a historic building — required continuous 24/7 measurement and automated alarms to reassure multiple asset owners that construction would not cause structural or economic damage.

They deployed an integrated, automated ecosystem of Trimble total stations, geotechnical sensors and communications feeding Trimble 4D Control and Trimble Pivot, with data served via web, desktop, SMS and e-mail to stakeholders. The system provided real-time 3D deformation monitoring, automated analysis and alarm reporting, improving site safety and risk management and earning a QSEA Award for Innovation and Commercialisation.
