Rabine Paving Leads the Way with New 3D Roadworks for Mills and Cold Planers

Rabine Paving, a Schaumburg, Illinois-based pavement maintenance and construction firm, wanted to bring 3D machine control to its milling and cold planing operations to improve accuracy on complex parking lots with drainage and ADA slope requirements. The company partnered with Trimble and used the Trimble Roadworks Paving Control Platform for Mills and Cold Planers, along with Trimble SPS930 Universal Total Station and Trimble Business Center software.

Trimble helped Rabine Paving automate milling to the design profile, reducing guesswork, rework, and manual string-line adjustments while improving efficiency, precision, and crew safety. On its first project, the system quickly handled complex slopes and a roundabout, enabling faster, more accurate work, better material control, and quality profiles; Rabine also reported safer jobsites, easier operator training, and more sustainable operations.
