Qatar Quarry Production Uses LOADRITE MMS for Measurement Accuracy
Al Swaidan, subcontracted by Consolidated Contractors Group to supply crushed and screened limestone for a 15 km highway upgrade near Doha, Qatar, needed to produce and invoice over 1 million tonnes of multiple products with different prices. Traditional stockpile surveys consistently underestimated tonnage while using a truck weighbridge was accurate but added costly round trips, so Al Swaidan sought an affordable, accurate monthly measurement method for billing.
They fitted LOADRITE L2180 onboard scales to wheel loaders and used LOADRITE’s Material Management System to capture loads and product codes. A 59-truck trial showed LOADRITE matched the truck scale within 0.54% (vs. a 19.28% underestimate by visual surveys, which would have underpaid them by USD 775.65 at $3/t), and long-term tracking of 159,298 t vs 159,236 t produced a 0.04% variance—well within the ±1% tolerance—enabling accurate billing and efficient stock movement tracking.
