Prolog® Software Helps Harris Construction Improve Communication, Enhance Subcontractor Management and Keep Pace with Changing Technology Trends

Harris Construction Co., Inc., a Central California general contractor founded in 1914 with nearly $2B in completed work and in-house self-performing trades, needed to modernize longstanding paper-based project management. Leadership wanted better communication, subcontractor oversight, and a way to move away from manual “yellow tablet” processes to keep pace with changing technology and improve productivity across diverse delivery methods and large projects.

Harris implemented Meridian’s Prolog (later moving toward Prolog Converge), deploying server- and Citrix-based access with Cost Control and Document Management modules and customized Crystal Reports. The system improved information visibility, sped RFI and correspondence workflows, simplified meeting preparation, and helped track subcontractor insurance and change orders—reducing paper, shortening response times, and streamlining project closeout (e.g., the on-time $131M Clovis North Education Center).
