Precise Positioning Provides Superpower Efficiency and Accuracy in Agricultural Research

Precision Silver is a Florida-based start-up that automates plot- and plant-level assessments for agrochemical research sites across North America. Traditionally, technicians spent hours manually measuring plots with sticks and clipboards, a slow, labor-intensive process complicated by remote sites where RTK/VRS coverage is limited and local operators often lack GNSS expertise.

The company adopted a portable Trimble solution—R2 GNSS receiver with CenterPoint RTX corrections, TSC3 controller and Trimble Access—to establish survey-grade ground control (better than ~2 cm horizontal, ~5 cm vertical). The easy-to-deploy workflow and dealer support enabled high-resolution UAV imagery (down to ~1 mm/px), accurate georeferencing and 3D models, allowing repeatable, industry-standard ratings and boosting productivity (assessments in minutes rather than all day).
