Pedernales Electric Cooperative - Customer Case Study

Pedernales Electric Cooperative (PEC), the largest electric distribution cooperative in the U.S. serving 300,000+ meters across Central Texas, faced an urgent need for a reliable outage management solution and more accurate network mapping. Having long been a Trimble customer, PEC chose Trimble after evaluating options that offered unique capabilities to meet their tight timeline and operational requirements.

Trimble integrated an outage management system with PEC’s existing GIS and completed the initial deployment in just 14 weeks, with a follow‑on project to establish a system of record for staking, design and inventory. The combined solution delivered faster, more accurate field response, mobile outage reporting, an outage map with ETAs for members, reduced crew and contractor time, lower cost per meter, improved SAIDI and higher customer satisfaction.
