Orange County Sanitation District - Customer Case Study

The Orange County Sanitation District needed a better way to inspect more than 8,000 manholes across its wastewater network while replacing paper-based data collection with a reliable, centralized GIS record. To address this challenge, OCSD worked with Trimble and its Trimble Unity solution, using rugged Trimble Juno T41 devices to support field-based manhole maintenance, mapping, and inspection.

Trimble implemented Trimble Unity as a cloud-based SaaS platform integrated with Esri ArcGIS, enabling OCSD workers to automate inspections, capture photos and GPS locations, and update asset data directly in the field. The result was a streamlined inspection process with immediate access to data and fewer errors, improving the accuracy and efficiency of OCSD’s manhole maintenance and records management.
