A Trimble Case Study
The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority (MVCA) manages the Mississippi and Carp river watersheds across 4,450 km2 in Ontario and routinely monitors shorelines and water quality. Field teams working in wet, physically demanding conditions relied on pen‑and‑paper notes, which introduced errors, slowed processing and made it difficult to capture accurate locations and photos.
MVCA deployed Trimble TerraFlex on rugged Trimble Juno handhelds to run custom mobile forms, capture GNSS‑accurate locations and geo‑referenced photos, and synchronize data to the cloud. The new workflow removed manual transcription, saved hours of processing per project, significantly improved data accuracy, and enabled faster, better‑informed watershed management decisions.
