A Trimble Case Study
Trimble partnered with the Government of Belize’s Ministry of Natural Resources and Immigration to modernize a fragmented land administration system that was struggling under a national land reform program. The project faced rising workloads from adjudication, poor-quality parcel data, inadequate ICT infrastructure, limited staff capacity and training, and internal resistance and corruption within surveying teams.
Trimble deployed its landfolio platform across multiple departments, performed parcel correction surveys, upgraded ICT, implemented stronger security/audit controls, and delivered a revised training program with train‑the‑trainer “super‑users.” The result was full digitization of 1.6 million records, linkage of mapped parcels to titles, a drop in Land Registry processing from 39 to 5 days (parcel updates from 28 to 7 days), a 72% increase in annual land revenue, a 70% rise in out‑of‑district transactions, and secure titles for over 16,000 rural parcels.
