Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati - Customer Case Study

The Metropolitan Sewer District of Greater Cincinnati (MSD), which serves more than 850,000 people across 290+ square miles, needed to deliver the Lower Mill Creek Partial Remedy—including the Lick Run Project—to eliminate large volumes of combined sewer overflows. The program faced an aggressive construction schedule, inconsistent, paper-based review workflows, and processes that were not scalable or easily archived to meet MSD’s documentation and compliance requirements.

e-Builder Enterprise was deployed as a centralized, customized hub mapped to MSD’s standard procedures, with Stantec creating business intelligence reports and dashboards to track KPIs. Automation and streamlined workflows cut average RFI processing time from 13 to 5 days and submittal processing from 27 to 11 days, converted 1,400 submittals to electronic records (freeing physical space), improved productivity, and positioned the solution for possible program-wide adoption to help ensure on-time delivery.
