A Trimble Case Study
Memorial Hermann, one of the largest not‑for‑profit health systems in the U.S., operates 15 hospitals in the Houston area and was managing a $2 billion capital program with about 400 projects. The system struggled with costly overruns (one $66M project exceeded budget by $4M), time‑intensive audits (an employee spent over 1,700 hours gathering data), contingency‑heavy budgets and a slow invoice process that led to up to 31% of 400 monthly invoices being paid late.
Memorial Hermann implemented e-Builder Enterprise as a single-entry project management information system, integrated with Lawson, to replace a triple‑entry process. The change automated reconciliations, reduced duplicate entry and reporting time, improved cost visibility and estimating, and freed staff for project work. As a result, the organization identified $700,000 in savings that were re-deployed to other projects, improved cost certainty, and gained more resources to support capital projects and charitable missions.
