Megens Installations, a Dutch MEP contractor, faced a common industry problem: transferring detailed BIM information from the office to mechanics on site. Skilled workers are scarce and traditional 2D drawings and manual measuring slowed productivity and required experienced staff to spend time measuring instead of installing.

Megens adopted Trimble’s RPT600 rapid positioning system to project model points onto the building with a laser, eliminating tape measures and speeding layout work. The workflow cut modelling and site layout time, allowed the team to complete the entire ground-level layout in a single visit on their pilot project, and received strong positive feedback from site crews.
