Manchac Consulting Group was hired by Bossier City Public Utilities to prepare a hydraulic model of the city’s sanitary sewer system but found the legacy manhole data contained vertical errors up to five feet. To meet the need for high-accuracy location and elevation information across the main trunk lines, the firm expanded its GIS capabilities and undertook field measurement of the manholes.

Using Trimble GeoXH Centimeter‑edition GNSS, TerraSync software and TrimPix photography, Manchac measured 668 manholes and produced a new high‑accuracy dataset and inspection report. The data was imported into Bentley SewerGEMS to prioritize sewer rehabilitation and build a 2030 future‑conditions model, the eight‑month project earned client praise and enabled Manchac to apply the same workflow to new projects.
