Making the Impossible, Possible - teTra aviation uses Trimble Technology to win the GoFly Disruptor Award

teTra aviation, a seven‑person Tokyo team developing a personal eVTOL to “fly anytime, anywhere,” entered the GoFly Prize to turn urban personal flight into reality. Faced with roughly 800 competitors and strict rules to build a safe, quiet, ultra‑compact near‑VTOL capable of carrying one person for the required distance on a limited budget and tight schedule, the team needed highly reliable navigation and a partner who could deliver fast, affordable hardware and strong technical support.

teTra integrated Trimble’s MB‑Two GNSS receiver and LV59 antenna for precise heading and 20 Hz position updates, with timely delivery and hands‑on support, enabling reliable vertical takeoffs, landings and 20‑minute flights with reserves. The 227 kg CFRP‑built vehicle (6‑hour charge) demonstrated improved range (now ~30 km in testing), won a $100,000 prize at the competition, and positioned the team to expand into the Japanese market and further competitions.
