Loudoun Water, a Northern Virginia utility serving more than 80,000 households, needed a better way to manage asset maintenance and field service work orders across 1,200 miles of water pipelines and 900 miles of wastewater lines. Its existing SAP ERP and Geo.e mapping setup still relied on cumbersome paper-based processes, making it difficult for 150+ operations staff to handle daily workloads efficiently.

Trimble implemented Trimble Unity, a mobile, GIS-based SaaS platform that integrates with Loudoun Water’s SAP ERP and Esri GIS systems. The solution digitized field workflows, helped generate more than 20,000 hydrant flushing orders in the first phase, and gave crews real-time access to maps, work orders, and asset data on iPads and Windows tablets. As a result, Loudoun Water replaced paper-heavy processes with streamlined digital workflows and gained real-time visibility for management.
