Legacy Building Services Uses Prolog® Software to Reduce Risk, Automate Labor-Intensive Tasks and Save Tens of Thousands of Dollars Each Year

Legacy Building Services, Inc. is a San Diego-based general contractor (founded 2003) that builds commercial, multi‑family and historic renovation projects. Faced with complex, large-scale work—most notably a $30M Liberty Station Marketplace historic renovation that involved multiple owners, tight deadlines and unforeseen conditions—the company needed better project controls, streamlined communication and reduced risk while remaining a small, efficient team.

Legacy implemented Prolog software with reseller Kelar Pacific, choosing to conform its processes to the system rather than heavily customizing it. Prolog centralized document, cost and change‑order control and integrated with e‑mail to halve communication time (about $1,000 saved per team per month on that task), speed payments, reduce drawing and change‑order risk, and eliminate duplicate data entry. The result: company‑wide adoption, tens of thousands of dollars in annual savings, on‑schedule delivery of the Liberty Station project (with awards), a perfect safety record, and support for rapid growth.
