A Trimble Case Study
Kerr Limited, a family‑owned aggregate producer in Midwestern Ontario with nearly a century of operations, needed better visibility into production at a remote crusher and more accurate, efficient loadout for township gravel contracts. The plant’s location and the pace of the crusher made bucket‑by‑bucket loader weighing impractical, leaving Kerr unable to quickly spot production slowdowns, track true tons moved, or optimize payloads and cycle times.
Kerr deployed Trimble LOADRITE C2880 belt scale and is testing L2180 loader scales, with Trimble InsightHQ cloud reporting to centralize data. The C2880 provides real‑time tons, tons/hour and belt run times so managers can address slowdowns immediately, while the L2180 ties truck and operator IDs to payloads, load counts and cycle times. Early results show clearer production metrics, expected increases in tons moved per hour, tighter bidding and potential savings of hundreds of dollars per month per truck.
