Kentucky Transportation Cabinet - Customer Case Study

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), which inspects 14,000 bridges statewide, was suddenly tasked by the state legislature with a $350 million program to renovate or replace 340 bridges in two years—about five times its usual annual workload. Relying on spreadsheets and paper, KYTC needed a fast, integrated software solution that could scale quickly and provide secure access for a 22‑firm program team, contractors, consultants and other agency partners.

e-Builder was deployed as a centralized, scalable SaaS platform and configured by Stantec and consultant KFA to automate screening, workflows and reporting. The team gathered data on more than 1,000 structures, built the screening process within 120 days, and implemented an end‑to‑end project workflow used on 400+ bridges, integrating financial systems and creating a single source of truth so stakeholders could share documents, track costs and keep the program on schedule.
