A Trimble Case Study
The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), which manages more than 25,000 lane miles of highway plus bridges, airports and other assets, sought to improve pavement and maintenance decision-making to enhance safety, increase efficiency, reduce costs, and deliver better reporting to executive management. The agency faced operational challenges including consolidating seven legacy databases, integrating new tools with existing systems (pavement data collection, time and attendance, fleet management), and training staff statewide.
NMDOT implemented AgileAssets Pavement Analyst (PMS) and Maintenance Manager (MMS), consolidated data into a single database, integrated the systems with existing department platforms, and trained staff to use the tools effectively. The result: faster, more informed prioritization of pavement projects to maximize return on investment, improved cross‑functional coordination and reporting, increased productivity and cost savings, and safer, longer‑lasting roadways—efforts that earned an AXIAM award nomination.
