How they adopted a centralized project management solution

The University of Southern California’s Capital Construction & Facilities Management group was tasked with managing a $1.5 billion capital construction program covering projects from $6K to $650M. Project managers were spread thin and relied on email and paper-based workflows across multiple locations, which limited visibility, productivity, traceability and accuracy.

USC adopted e-Builder as its centralized program management information system, connecting estimating, scheduling, cost control and document management, standardizing workflows and augmenting staff to handle contract administration. As a result, annual construction throughput tripled from FY2011 to FY2015, directors and project managers gained one system of record for real-time visibility and trend analysis, change order proposals are evaluated earlier, documents and invoices process faster, and overall credibility with internal stakeholders improved.
