A Trimble Case Study
BSF Swissphoto, a Swiss‑German geospatial company, was contracted to survey a 900‑sq‑km area in the northern Schiphol region covering 17 municipalities. Working near busy Schiphol Airport (≈1,350 movements/day), the team had to collect and process 30,000 images under strict flight-control constraints and deliver seamless, color‑balanced orthomosaics with a ground sample distance of ≤4 cm—producing initial processed images within seven weeks and final datasets within 11 weeks.
To meet the deadline they combined an optimized flight plan and 164 ground control points (horizontal accuracy <3 cm) with the Trimble Inpho Suite—MATCH‑AT for automatic triangulation, a lidar DTM and OrthoMaster for orthorectification, and OrthoVista for seamless mosaicking. The automated workflow and quality control turned 30,000 photos into 17 city‑level orthomosaics and TIFF tiles within the 11‑week window, securing repeat work and launching the 2020 campaign.
