Holcim - Customer Case Study

Holcim's Bohle Quarry in Australia faced a significant challenge supplying materials for the Townsville Ringroad project, a major infrastructure job requiring the rapid import of over a million tonnes of fill. The traditional method of tracking materials via a manual weighbridge process was too slow and inefficient for the project's scale and tight deadlines, creating a bottleneck for the customer, contractor, and haulage company.

Vendor Trimble, through its distributor SITECH, implemented a full Connected Site solution for Holcim. This included Trimble’s ‘Legal for Trade’ Loadrite weighing systems on loaders and Trimble Telematics technology on haul trucks, all feeding real-time data into cloud reporting tools. The solution enabled Holcim to bypass the weighbridge, saving three minutes per truck trip and leading to a dramatic fourfold increase in productivity, allowing them to supply 1.2 million tonnes of material in just three months.
