GLX Constructors, a joint venture led by STV and including Fluor, Middlesex, Herzog and Balfour Beatty, is delivering the billion-dollar MBTA Green Line Extension—six new stations plus Lechmere reconstruction—across Somerville, Cambridge and Medford. The team struggled with drawing and spec version control on shared servers, limited field access to current documents, and the need for robust data retention and compliance on a publicly funded project.

In June 2019 GLX moved to Trimble ProjectSight, deploying Drawings, Document Controls and Field Management with tailored training and setup. The mobile apps give field crews and subcontractors instant, even offline, access to the latest documents, while ProjectSight’s configurability supports strict retention and compliance—resulting in faster access to up‑to‑date information and improved project efficiency.
