The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) needed to modernize fleet management for more than 11,000 vehicles and pieces of equipment to improve efficiency, reporting, fuel tracking, utilization and replacement scheduling. The project required extensive development, integration with third‑party systems and coordinated staff training across 12 highway districts to capture accurate fleet condition and lifecycle data.

KYTC partnered with AgileAssets to deploy an enhanced Fleet & Equipment Manager integrated with WEX Fleet One fueling data, adding preventive maintenance, downtime and utilization tracking, quick inventory reporting, rental-rate tools and streamlined data entry — plus on‑site training. The system delivered measurable gains in fleet efficiency, revealed complex repair needs, pinpointed deficiencies and fuel‑economy/idle issues for better operational decisions, and earned KYTC a nomination for the AXIAM award.
