Georgiou Completes Australian Earthworks Project Two Months Ahead Schedule

Georgiou Group, a national building and civil construction company, undertook a six-month earthworks project in Alkimos, WA to move 600,000 m³ of sand, rock and limestone 1.5 km across a 2 km × 600 m site. Facing limited visibility into payloads, haul routes and operator productivity from manual data capture, Georgiou engaged SITECH WA and Trimble to better understand material movement, control costs and improve site productivity.

The team deployed Trimble solutions including LOADRITE X2350 excavator scales, VisionLink/VisionLink monitoring, InsightHQ reporting, GCS900 grade control, Business Center - HCE and UAV surveys to capture real-time load, location and mass-haul data. With precise payloads and live dashboards for supervisors, Georgiou increased hauling productivity 25%, reduced project time by 33% (finishing two months early), achieved roughly 20% cost savings, optimized haul zones, and even increased truck payloads from 32 t to 40 t—while improving operator accountability and reporting.
