A Trimble Case Study
Farrish Crushing, a Listowel, Ontario custom crushing operation, faced recurring disputes with a longtime customer over material tonnage after the customer insisted on volume-based measurement converted to weight. The uncertainty cost Farrish about $70,000 the previous year and strained the relationship with Capital Paving, so the company sought a consistent, verifiable weighing solution to recapture lost revenue and restore trust.
Working with dealer Silver Top Supply, Farrish installed a Trimble LOADRITE C2850 belt scale on its Nordberg conveyor, with weekly calibration and remote reporting for traceable, ±1% accurate weights. The scale helped deliver 50,000 tons in 2.5 months (~2,500 tons/day), saved an estimated $70,000 in the first year, eliminated disputes, improved productivity and customer confidence, and prompted plans to add more LOADRITE systems.
