Enthalpy Uses the Flexibility of Prolog ® Software to Develop Custom Cost Control Tools that add Significant Value to their Service Delivery

Enthalpy is an international project management firm based in Brisbane that delivers embedded teams and capital-project services—primarily to the mining and resources sector—across a wide range of complex, global projects. The company relied on disparate Excel and Access tools that varied by project and client, making standardization, repeatability and scalable reporting difficult; Enthalpy needed a single, transferable system that would add value to its service delivery.

Enthalpy adopted and heavily customized Prolog software while keeping the core database intact, building tools such as a Master Cost Transactions data group, a Hierarchical Budget Code Tool and an Incurred Cost module, plus an integration layer to link other applications. These changes consolidated cost transactions, cut reporting effort by about 75%, improved cost visibility and early issue detection, sped monthly billings, and gave Enthalpy a competitive advantage that they now deploy across clients and Prolog versions.
