Effective planning tool contributed to project completion 3.5 months ahead of schedule

AF Gruppen, a civil construction contractor, needed better planning and coordination for a major alignment-based infrastructure project: the 23 km E18 Tvedestrand-Arendal motorway in Norway, involving tunnels, bridges, culverts, and massive earthworks. Working with Trimble and its Tilos planning tool, AF Gruppen had to manage complex time, location, resource, and subcontractor dependencies across a very large project team.

Trimble implemented Tilos as a time-location planning solution to improve visibility, scenario planning, and resource allocation. The result was a clearer project overview, better communication, stronger cost and progress control, and the motorway was completed 3.5 months ahead of schedule after just 30 months of construction.
