Eberhard Group Boosts Zurich Landfill with Trimble Connected Site

The Eberhard Group’s DHZ subsidiary operates the 30 ha “Hauli” landfill near Zürich and follows an “Urban Mining” approach to recycle demolition and industrial wastes. Their challenge was to consistently monitor, analyze and document diverse, sometimes contaminated materials over a 40‑year operation to minimize risk, meet regulatory requirements and optimize limited landfill space.

Working with SITECH® and Trimble®, DHZ deployed Trimble Connected Site solutions—Construction Manager, Trimble GCS900 GNSS machine control, VisionLink and Business Center - HCE—to capture 3D machine data, batch locations, compaction passes and cut/fill maps in real time. The system delivers detailed 3D visualization and reporting (about 7,000 m³ moved per month), enables precise material tracing, speeds approvals and planning, and yields estimated 5–10% volume and operational cost savings while establishing a repeatable documentation standard.
