A Trimble Case Study
Fuhler, a contracting and rental company from Emmen, Netherlands, was contracted for earthworks on the 22‑hectare extension to Wildlands Adventure Zoo, which includes Europe’s largest sub‑tropical greenhouse. When work moved under the greenhouse roof, satellite signals were lost and Fuhler’s 3D GPS‑controlled excavators could not be used, threatening accuracy and schedule on the indoor excavation.
With help from SITECH Nederland, Fuhler switched to a Trimble GCS900 grade control system paired with two Trimble SPS730 Universal Total Stations. The total‑station solution replicated the in‑cab 3D workflow operators already knew, eliminated staking, and delivered centimeter‑level positioning for the bucket, keeping machines accurate and efficient indoors and enabling the team to complete the excavation on schedule.
