Moldestad Fjellsprengning AS is a five-person drill-and-blast specialist in Western Norway that prepares sites for contractors, developers and local authorities. Working close to buildings and utilities on rocky, clay-rich terrain created a constant challenge: the company needed absolute safety and predictability while keeping drilling and explosives costs under control and integrating office planning with field operations.

Moldestad implemented Trimble Groundworks machine control, Trimble Business Center and Trimble Connected Community to deliver detailed drill plans from the office to the rigs, use GNSS-guided drilling that auto-stops at design depth, and share real-time progress between machines and the office. The result was higher safety, repeatable accuracy (blasts as close as 25 cm to structures), faster tendering and costing, fewer callbacks and measurable efficiency gains that have paid for the investment multiple times over.
