Creating a 4-Year Pavement Management Plan with AgileAssets® Pavement Analyst™

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), responsible for 80,444 centerline miles of roadway across 25 districts and some of the highest traffic volumes in the U.S., needed a uniform, roadway‑specific, budget‑constrained multi‑year pavement management plan that met legislative requirements for district-by-district analysis and pavement condition targets. The challenge was to generate defensible, data‑driven projects and predict how allocated funds would affect pavement outcomes across the state.

TxDOT implemented AgileAssets Pavement Analyst as its pavement management system of record, using predictive modeling, GIS and integration with construction, maintenance and crash databases to build and annually update a 4‑year plan. The system enabled mapping and scenario analysis to assess funding impacts, producing more cost‑effective projects, improved budget forecasting and coordination, better pavement outcomes and legislative compliance — an effort that earned TxDOT an AXIAM honorable mention.
