COWI, a leading Nordic infrastructure design consultancy, needed a better way to manage complex multidisciplinary design work and avoid collisions across roads, rail, water/sewer, bridges, tunnels, and other projects. With Trimble’s BIM solution, including Novapoint and Quadri, COWI aimed to improve collaboration, keep data current, and speed up engineering work.

Trimble implemented a shared BIM workflow and a 3D product library that let multiple engineers work in the same project model with up-to-date information. The result was faster design cycles, stronger quality assurance, and fewer errors on site; tasks that once took weeks now take days, and some projects became possible to detail only because of the improved collaboration. COWI also reported more efficient water and sewer design through the Novapoint product library and better automatic updating of drawings and sections.
