Construction Management Startup Uses Prolog ® Software to Standardize Processes, Increase Efficiency and Win More Work

Catalyst Construction Group is a Chicago-based general contracting and construction management startup founded by Mike Pinelli and Chad McRoberts to handle commercial, residential and renovation projects. Growing from $6M in 2006 with a $10M backlog for 2007, the firm needed a way to manage multiple large projects with a small staff; their top priorities were tracking project documentation and selecting an easy-to-use system to replace spreadsheets.

They implemented Meridian’s Prolog Manager with Prolog WebSite (plus e-mail integration), which rolled out quickly because staff were already familiar with Prolog. The system centralized RFIs, daily reports, contracts, submittals and change orders, standardized processes, improved subcontractor communication, reduced paper/costs, sped new‑employee ramp-up, enhanced decision-making and helped the company win larger projects.
